I am the proud mom to 6 kids: Natasha, 24, Nikolai, 20, Reese, 20, Maylee, 14, Erik, 10 and Violet, 7. The kids come from Russia, Ukraine and China; I'm so proud of my family sometimes I think I'll burst and I needed an outlet for it - so I've created this weblog. :o)

Mark and I have seen God really working in this adoption process. There were two paperwork issues that we thought we were going to have problems with, but God has worked them out! In fact, there was one issue that He worked out - A YEAR AGO. We had no idea that we were going to be adopting last year, but God smoothed out a HUGE paperwork issue for us via a person that neither of us has had contact with (or a good relationship with!!) for 10 years or so. I have to be vague about the details at this time... sorry. But just know that this was a victory for Simon, and knowing that God was watching out for him a year ago, knowing that we were to be his family is REALLY comforting!!

We are worried a bit about finances, and have already been deemed not eligible by several of the grant organizations, but we shouldn't be worried. After all, Simon is GOD's child first, and ours second, right?? God wants him placed even more than we do, so why are we worrying?? :o)

My friend told me at the beginning of our adoption journey that "if it's God's will, He'll foot the bill!" Simple and very true concept, but sometimes VERY difficult to keep in mind when we start to worry about the finances of our adoption too...

peace and blessings to you all!

If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap.
If you want happiness for a day, go fishing.
If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune.
If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.
