About Me

I am the proud mom to 6 kids: Natasha, 24, Nikolai, 20, Reese, 20, Maylee, 14, Erik, 10 and Violet, 7. The kids come from Russia, Ukraine and China; I'm so proud of my family sometimes I think I'll burst and I needed an outlet for it - so I've created this weblog. :o)

My Blog List

Tuesday, April 13, 2010
To take a break (probably brief!) from talking so much about our new puppy, I thought it would be kind of fun to highlight each of my kids and a few things about each. I will do each separately, so as to give each the attention he/she deserves. As Natasha is the oldest, I'll start with her, and go down the list by age.

10 Things about Natasha:

1) She was born in 1990 and became my beloved daughter in 1996 - the prettiest little 5 1/2 year old to enter this country in ages.

2) When she was little, she had jet black hair, ice blue eyes and the biggest smile.

3) She loves animals, especially cats, though we always had dogs.

4) She's great with older people, and often helped out in the nursing homes/rehab centers where I worked. Her sparkly smile and friendly ways made them feel so comfortable with her.

5) She lived in 3 states in America before she graduated from high school: Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa. Almost lived in Florida, but opted not to.

6) She is very athletic and loves to run and do anything physical. So much so, that she joined the Marines and is currently serving!

7) LOVES other people her own age!!!!

8) Listened to the ENTIRE Chronicles of Narnia book set when she was in grade school while I read them all out loud to her. That was fun.

9) During her first year in America, she visited The Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. And went on a cruise with me and her Gram (my mom).

10) And my favorite, prayed to accept Jesus into her heart when she was 7, one evening while I was tucking her into bed. :o)

If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap.
If you want happiness for a day, go fishing.
If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune.
If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.

It is not the will of your Father that any one of these little ones should perish. Matt. 18:14

Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. Matt. 18:5

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
