I am the proud mom to 6 kids: Natasha, 24, Nikolai, 20, Reese, 20, Maylee, 14, Erik, 10 and Violet, 7. The kids come from Russia, Ukraine and China; I'm so proud of my family sometimes I think I'll burst and I needed an outlet for it - so I've created this weblog. :o)

Some parents may disagree with this, but I've been working with Erik, trying to get him to be conscious of his mouth hanging open. His tone isn't that low, and when his mouth is open for long stretches, his tongue dries out or he drools like crazy. He often very naturally closes his mouth, so there's no physical reason why he can't, but when he is conscious of it, he makes the cutest faces!!! He has come to learn that when I try to get him to close his mouth that it's a fun game and he usually ends up clapping his hands and smiling, which is PRECIOUS!

I hope you get some giggles out of this adorable video of my little guy!! I love him so!!

Oh Missy,
Erik is so darn cute! He is doing great and there is nothing wrong with teaching him this. I think it's an important skill for him to have. Society can be cruel and one of the things I hear people comment on a lot is how people with Ds always have their tongue out. He's just adorable, I have to meet your little guy in person one day!!:)

Could he possibly be any cuter? What a precious video I just loved it. He is so darling and it just amazes me at how much he has changed in less than a year. Rhonda
