Edit Post
Not 5 days ago I sent in our application to the Immigration Dept. for our 1-171H approval to bring Simon here. I was bursting my buttons with pride for having so few problems with it and really feeling like I was somebody!
Today, I got a certified letter and I quickly went to the P.O. and it was from them!! I knew it wasn't our approval letter because it was WAY too fast and they didn't have our homestudy yet, nor our Homeland Security fingerprints yet. BIG DUH!!! They sent everything back because I did not enclose a money order!! I would have bet a thousand bucks that the appl. said to send a 'check made out to...' (I haven't taken the time to double check yet, but I'm sure that's what it says!!) Anyway, I feel like such a stooge for not being safe and just sending a stupid money order.
Two things: One, it's no big deal at this point, really, because they don't have our homestudy yet, and I'm not really sure what good it does to mail in the paperwork beforehand, and
Two, it's great to see how FAST that stuff came back, and by certified mail!! I hope this is a good sign that shows that they are a FAST department!!
We got our final two letters of recommendation from Robin and LeeAnn (thanks guys!) tonight so tomorrow I will send all of the homestudy stuff to Ft. Pierce to our agency and resend the INS stuff complete with a MONEY ORDER to Orlando!!
As my Aunt Roberta would say, "Oy vey iz mir!!"

If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune.
If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.

That is so strange. In California I have always sent a check. I guess each state varies. i am sorry for what happened, but I am sure it won't delay you one bit!
