We finally came up with a name!! We had to go back to the notary and have a document re-drawn (what's 300 grivnas among friends, anyway?) but it's for the lifetime of little Sergei, so we figured it was worth it. This is what we came up with:

Erik Gabriel George Taborn

Erik: A name we both liked. Mark first came up with this name originally but I didn't really like it. Since then, it's grown on me and I think he looks like an Erik. There was some dispute about the spelling, whether it should be "Erich" or "Eric" or "Erik", but the latter was decided upon. "Erik" means "Honorable Ruler" or something like that, but whatever.

Gabriel: A name that I LOVE, but didn't think was just right for a first name. He just didn't seem like a "first named Gabriel" to me, but I was not willing to let it go, so it's in the middle. As Gabriel is one of the highest angels, I thought it was fitting for our beautiful angelic little boy. :o)

George: This is Mark's dad's first name. Mark's dad passed away several years ago but was very much loved and Mark wanted to honor him in this way and I had absolutely no objection.

Reese has two middle names, so why not Sergei/Seriozha/Gabe/Simon/Peter/Erik? This time it's for keeps. I wanted to keep "Sergei" in his name, but 3 middle names?? There just isn't enough room, and I don't think Erik will mind after he gets used to his new name and new life.

Hurray! He does look like and Erik but it will be tough at first not to call him Simon :)

Love you guys! Can't wait to hear how little Erik does once he's home.

Well, I like the spelling and if you think he looks like an Erik, then that's all that matters!! ;o)
I'll have a tendency to call him Simon but you know it's kind of hard to "teach an old dog new tricks!!" ;o) Love ya!

I can not tell you just how much I love this little boy. I love all of my boys... Nikolai, Ruslan, Adam (the dog) and now Erik. This has been quite a roller coaster ride for us, and it has ALL been worth it. See some of the other kids in Eriks grouppa really make you change everything about how you process lifre. I know that I am changed already by this. Today was a good day visiting little Erik. We woke him up from a nap, and he wasn't too happy with us, but after some time - we had a blast. Thank you all for your prayers and comments. I really wish we could have met the Reed's while they were here. Maybe someday we can all have a campout somewhere central to everyone. I'm just not sure that central to everyone is a possible outcome. :0 Proud Papa is now going to bed.

Love it!! You, as always were cracking me up using different names for him. Luckily I have been paying attention LOL!! Congratulations for finally deciding!

Love it! It fits. And he is getting cuter with each picture! Olga has grabbed me too! Of course, each time I saw her old pic I would wonder about her! Surely your new pics, and having met her will be a Godsend for her!
