No, there wasn't a mouse in my shower this morning, yesterday afternoon I took Erik to DisneyWorld to meet "The Mouse"! It was the very last day of our annual passes, and we aren't going to renew (we aren't made of money). We hadn't been to Disney since last spring (too hot and toooooo many tourists!!) and this was our last shot at getting Erik there! Mark wasn't feeling well and our record-high temps were NOT what he was wanting to shlep around in all day, so it was just my boy and me, headed to Dis.

Erik... well, he did pretty well. He had NO CLUE that this was the "Happiest Place on Earth", and so he had no qualms about freaking out every so often. Probably it was way, way too early to take him there, but I couldn't help it, and it was THE last chance he'd have until who-knows-when, so he had to buck up and enjoy it.

He pretty much screamed every time we got on a ride and I sat him down. Then, after I sat down next to him and pulled him next to me, he was fine. I don't believe he smiled the whole afternoon, but he did do lots of talking and TONS of watching!! It was so hot that I kept pouring water on us to keep us cool.

He liked (if you can call it "like") the Dumbo ride, the Pooh ride, the little car ride, and (cough!) It's a Small World!! He did NOT like The Tommorowland Express (is that the name?) or Peter Pan and he screamed the whole time during Snow White!! Poor kid!!!! I would never have pushed him if I knew we had more visits on our passes, but this was his one chance and darn it, he was going to have FUN!!! (LOL) He also was TERRIFIED of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and our pictures turned out pretty bad. Speaking of pictures, I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!!! I had to buy one of those horrible one-use cameras that take such miserable pictures, but it was better than nothing, I suppose!!

If you want to see pictures of us, you can go to the Disney Photo website thingie. The address is:

Good luck!!! They aren't that great (the last one you can see him scream in terror right in Mickey's face!!! POOR KID!!), but a couple are salvageable.

This afternoon, we leave for Parris Island to watch my daughter graduate from Basic! What a busy week!!! I'm sooooooo tired. Yesterday wore me out in that heat!

Gotta go!! I hear Erik awake in his room. Time to start the day!
